Our thanks to the more than 4,500 individuals who took part in our Better, Bolder Peace Corps survey.
While a full report will be issued in December, initial results from the survey indicate that among the many ideas on how to improve and embolden the Peace Corps, issues related to strengthening development work and programming resonated especially high among survey respondents.
Follow this link to read our initial findings.
Hi Beth,
Thanks so much for your interest in the 50th Anniversary of Peace Corps! NPCA has been strategizing events with our member groups for the past two years, and there are lots of ways for you to get involved. We are excited to kick things off at an event in October 2010 at the University of Michigan.
We’ve created a forum on our own website for groups to discuss their plans for the 50th, and are holding a conference call for group leaders in December to discuss their own initiatives for the 50th anniversary as well. I’m sure that you could get on the call by contacting your local group leader or our Vice President, Anne Baker.
Please check out this page for more information: http://www.peacecorpsconnect.org/content/50th-anniversary-campaign
We will be updating it with local group events around the world as well as NPCA’s own 50th initiatives.
Thanks again,
Erica

Why isn't NPCA working with the local Michigan returned volunteer groups re the 50th anniversay celebration of Peace Corps? It was on the steps of the U of M student Union that Kennedy spoke about the Peace Corps, yet no overture from the NPCA to our local groups about helping out with the celebration etc. Hey NPCA...get it together and wort with the local groups...we ARE NPCA.
