The National Peace Corps Association has been working closely with Returned Peace Corps Volunteer lawmakers including Congressman Chris Shays (R-CT) to build support for the Peace Corps Reauthorization Act of 2008, legislation which outlines funding increases necessary to build a bigger,better,bolder Peace Corps. After holding more than 30 meetings in June and coordinating with advocates around the country, the number of co-sponsors grew last month from 11 to over 40!
