Assistant editor, Washington, D.C.
The position of assistant editor of WorldView Magazine will be filled by the successful applicant for the James R. Collins Magazine Publishing Fellowship. The fellow will receive a monthly stipend and will work in our editorial offices at the National Peace Corps Association, 1900 L Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20036 on a flexible part-time schedule under the direction of the editor of the magazine.
Assigned duties may include text editing, writing, editorial and photographic research, fact-checking, design, production of the print or online editions of the magazine and maintenance of a subscription marketing and renewal system.
The fellowship is awarded annually to a student at a Washington, D.C.-area university graduate program whose overseas work experience or area of graduate study is relevant to the skills and responsibilities of publishing a magazine of news and commentary about the world served by Peace Corps volunteers. Returned Peace Corps volunteers encouraged to apply. The deadline for applications for the academic year 2007-2008 is July 30, 2007. Applicants will be notified by e-mail of the magazine’s decision by August 15.
