According to the office of RPCV Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has scheduled the confirmation hearing for Aaron Williams, President Obama's nominee to be the next Director of Peace Corps. The hearing will take place this Wednesday, July 29 at 2:30pm in room SD-419. There will be no witnesses testifying, just Mr. Williams himself. The National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) will be among those submitting questions.
NPCA is encouraged by the timing of the confirmation hearing, and the fact that it was scheduled at the request of the White House. Should Mr. Williams' nomination be voted on before Congress recesses in early August, it would be one of the swiftest transitions in Peace Corps history.
